Yesterday was one of those days when 300 supporters gathered at the State Capitol to show their support for LB 577, the bill that would extend Medicaid to 54,000 uninsured Nebraskans, bring more than $2 billion back to our economy, and sustain thousands of jobs.
We cannot thank enough everyone who came out to the rally, made signs, cheered, chanted, and made it clear to our senators we feel we deserve a vote on LB 577.
Special thanks to our speakers: Senator Steve Lathrop, Senator Kathy Campbell, Senator Jeremy Nordquist, Dr. Rowen Zetterman, Bob Eppler of AARP Nebraska, and Sharon Lind, CEO of Ogallala Community Hospital.
Yesterday was a great day for supporters of LB 577, but the work is not done. There is still time to bring this bill to a vote, and your voice is essential!
Please call or e-mail your senator and tell them Nebraskans deserve a vote on LB 577. It is too important to our uninsured, working people, our hospitals, and our economy not to receive a vote this session.
