NEEC BOWYER GOOD TROUBLE FELLOWSHIP

AT APPLESEED, WE WELCOME PASSIONATE INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE DEDICATED TO BUILDING A NEBRASKA WHERE EVERYONE CAN ENJOY THE GOOD LIFE.

The Neec Bowyer Good Trouble Fellowship, hosted by Nebraska Appleseed, is designed to provide experience with social justice advocacy work connected to improving the lives of working Nebraskans and advancing economic justice. The fellowship honors the life and work of the late Denise “Neec” Bowyer, who fought tirelessly to improve working conditions, ensure dignity in the workplace and protect the civil rights of all people.

Neec had a passion for equity, justice and love. She worked as a union organizer for migrant farmers in Texas, sat as a Senior Member of the National Labor Relations Advisory Board, and championed the rights of meatpacking workers, among many other efforts for justice. Her life’s work was dedicated to the hope of a better world and better tomorrow. This fellowship aims to continue Neec’s passion for social justice, equity, and advocacy.  Learn more about Neec Bowyer from the tributes from the American Sustainable Business Network and Omaha Together One Community (OTOC).
