Nebraskans spoke loud and clear at the ballot box in 2022: We want a minimum wage that values our labor – regardless of age – AND ensures that wages do not once again fall behind the cost of living.
Despite the will of the people, the Nebraska Legislature is now seeking to undermine our state’s voter-approved minimum wage law.
❌ LB258 (Sen. Jane Raybould) would harm workers by severely weakening Nebraska’s minimum wage law. This bill carves out a subminimum wage for workers under the age of 20 AND restricts the cost of living increases that Nebraskans voted for in 2022.
This bill is on select file and will be up for its second round of debate this week.
Contact your senator now and tell them to OPPOSE LB258:

A ballot initiative that garners nearly 60% of the vote is a clear indicator of where Nebraskans stand on an issue. By carving out a subminimum wage for young Nebraska workers AND restricting the cost of living increases that we voted for, LB258 stands in direct opposition to the will of Nebraskans across the state.
