The Dream & Promise Act has been reintroduced and is expected to come up for a vote in the House of Representatives next week!
For more than a decade, we have seen the outpouring of Nebraska support for DREAMers and Temporary Protected Status residents – immigrant Nebraskans who have grown up and lived in local communities for decades – who have been waiting for a legislative solution for nearly 20 years.

“Hello, my name is [your name] and I live in [City]. I am calling to ask the Congressman to support the Dream & Promise Act, which would help provide stability for longtime Nebraskans, strengthen the economy, and keep families united. Family members and neighbors who contribute so much to our Nebraska communities have been left in limbo for decades. A process to apply for citizenship is long overdue and I strongly urge support for the Dream & Promise Act.”
The Farm Workforce Modernization Act is also up for vote next week – after 30 years without meaningful change – so share your support as well! This bill would provide a process for immigration status to farmworkers who keep food on our tables and have continued to provide essential work during the Covid-19 pandemic.
We will still need further action to fix our outdated and harmful immigration laws, but these bills are a critical step in the right direction and provide stability and inclusion for many immigrant Nebraskans who contribute so much to local communities.
We need full inclusion in order to heal and thrive together!
