CHILD WELFARE YOUTH FELLOWSHIP
Nebraska Appleseed is excited for your application to join us as a Child Welfare Advocacy Fellow. The Fellows will gain experience working in a nonprofit advocacy organization focused on child welfare and juvenile justice reform and support for older youth who are aging out of these systems. Fellows will have the opportunity to build and strengthen skills and explore interest in advocacy professions by connecting with other Nebraska Appleseed staff, community members and organizations and taking part in professional development and training. This fellowship can be completed in person, virtually, or by hybrid based on your schedule and location.
The fellowship is 5 weeks, about 6 hours per week, and will focus on you working on a project of your choice, a systemic piece or blog, a final wrap-up piece, and a community connection or interview with a professional. You will connect at least one or more times a week for supervision depending on how comfortable you are with your project and working on your own.
In order to receive your letter of recommendation and $450 stipend, you will need to complete your project, fulfill the full 30 hours of the fellowship, and complete the exit survey.
