Please JOIN US for a child welfare forum on evidence-based practice related to prevention and early intervention!
DATE: Thursday, September 13th
TIME: 1:00-4:00 p.m.
LOCATION: The Cornhusker Hotel, The Lancaster 123 Room, 333 S. 13th St., Lincoln, NE
RSVP: online at http://neappl.es/sparcrsvp or to Cynthia Davis at cynthia@neappleseed.org
The forum will be structured in three parts: an overview presentation to the full group, break-out sessions for which participants can self-select, and a brief report-out session with the full group.
The three break-out sessions will focus on:
- Evidence-Based Practice Programming
How does Nebraska make decisions on programming? What EBPs does Nebraska currently fund? What supports do providers need to deliver EBPs with high fidelity?
- Financing
What has been successful and where are barriers in coordinating financing to support more integrated children’s services in Nebraska in child welfare, behavioral and physical health, juvenile justice and human services funding streams? How can the strategic plan overcome these barriers?
- Assessment
What assessments to determine children’s needs are in place in Nebraska? What gaps exist? What system-level issued need to be addressed to ensure the successful implementation of any assessment plans to fill those gaps?
The break-out sessions will go deeper into each area and will include a discussion with participants. Each participant will choose one break-out session to attend. If applicable, you may wish to send more than one representative from your organization if multiple break-out topics are of interest.
The forum will feature a team national of experts including:
- Abel Ortiz, Director of Evidence Based Practice Group at The Annie E. Casey Foundation
- Justin Milner, Senior Associate of the Evidence Based Practice Group at The Annie E. Casey Foundation
- Margaret Flynn-Khan, Mainspring Consulting
