abUSed documents the effects of the largest and most expensive immigration raid in the history of the United States which occurred in the small town of Postville located in Northwestern Iowa.  Over the course of four days, immigration enforcement shackled and processed nearly 300 workers in group proceedings that violated due process. Through a series of personal narratives, this film examines this brutal process and the effects the raid left behind on a devastated community.

Director Luis Argueta is a native of Guatemala and a graduate of the University of Michigan.  He is also the director of El Silencio de Neto a 1994 film which is the only Guatemalan film to be considered for an Academy Award.
