Everyone should have access to the food they need. But ❌ LB656 would make Nebraska’s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) less effective and cut people off of food benefits.
Introduced by Senator Bob Andersen, LB656 would do two things:
- Take away several of Nebraska’s options to provide SNAP food benefits to Nebraskans who need it, and
- Impose harsh work requirements as a condition for receiving SNAP.
Both policies would cut Nebraskans off from food benefits and increase hunger.
This Thursday, February 27 at 1:30 pm, LB656 is up for a hearing in front of the Health and Human Services Committee, and committee members need to hear from you!
