Canceling our in-person Good Apple Awards

Every fall, Nebraska Appleseed brings our supporters together at our annual Good Apple Awards fundraiser to celebrate community advocates who are building a more just society in Nebraska.

Last year, out of an abundance of caution, we canceled our in-person event to protect the health and safety of our supporters. Given uncertainties around COVID-19 and the delta variant, we decided to cancel holding our in-person Good Apple Awards event this year.

While we’re disappointed that we won’t celebrate our 25th anniversary in-person this year, your safety and the safety of our supporters and community partners is far more important. The strength of our community’s long-term change-making efforts is only possible when we protect and keep each other safe

This event is an important Appleseed fundraiser. As an alternative, we’ve set a new goal to raise at least $25,000 in absence of an in-person event, which will help support what Appleseed needs to continue our advocacy efforts.

Help Appleseed reach our fundraising goal.

Although we won’t have a traditional event this fall, we’re planning creative ways to honor the people and organizations doing timely, critical work through our communication channels throughout the month of October. Stay tuned for more information about this year’s honorees!

Until then, thank you so much for being a core supporter of Nebraska Appleseed.
