Stop Evictions

Evictions are still happening. Tell Lincoln City Leaders to ACT.

Stop EvictionsThank you to everyone who sent messages to our leaders to stop evictions the past two weeks. Due to the snowstorm, the postponements have only delayed the worsening crisis, and it still desperately needs local intervention. We at Collective Impact Lincoln believe our city leaders have the power and responsibility to enact a limited eviction moratorium to close the gaps left by federal and state protections.

There were 68 eviction hearings this week. There are 35 next week.

Here’s how you can take action and advocate for our valuable community members who are at risk of eviction.

Speak Up: Write a message to city leaders. In the link below, we lay out three reasons why halting evictions is essential. We encourage you to share your own story or reasons, too.

Stand Up: Testify in-person at the City Council meeting on February 8th at 3:00 p.m. CT to tell our leaders to enact a moratorium. The City Council meeting will be at 555 S. 10th St in Lincoln

Please note: We acknowledge the risk imposed by this activity. If you need a mask, please let us know and we’ll provide one. If you aren’t comfortable participating in-person, you can still speak up and take action by writing a message.

Whatever action you decide to take, know that it makes a difference.
