Note: We’ve been overwhelmed by the number of Nebraskans who wanted to tell us how the health insurance protections of the Affordable Care Act have improved their lives. This is one of those stories.
Amber
I’m a 30-year-old single mom of one son who is almost 7 years old. He is very active in sports and Boy Scouts, and we love to be outside with our dogs. I’m just trying to give him the best life I can.
I work full-time at a daycare where I make minimum wage and receive no benefits. Prior to the ACA, I was just going without insurance. It’s been so reassuring to know I have insurance now. It’s affordable (with my tax credits I only pay a little each month and I have a low deductible) so I can still afford a life for myself and my son.
I don’t know what I’ll do without insurance. I certainly won’t be able to go to the doctor for any preventative care or even if I am sick.
I currently have an IUD but it’s 4 years old now so I doubt if the ACA is repealed I’ll be able to replace it or even have it removed.
Take Action!
Call the offices of Nebraska’s U.S. Senators today and tell them they must vote “NO” on the Graham-Cassidy health care bill that will cause premiums to skyrocket for thousands of Nebraskans, remove protections for Nebraskans with preexisting conditions, and make enormous cuts to Medicaid.
Sen. Deb Fischer (202) 224-6551 Sen. Ben Sasse (202) 224-4224
Tell their staff how important the ACA’s protections are to you or someone you care about.
