Our state’s minimum wage has not kept pace with the cost of living over the last 40 years which has left thousands of Nebraska workers behind. Did you know at Nebraska’s current minimum wage of $7.25 per hour a worker who works 40 hours a week, 52 weeks per year makes only $15,080 per year? No one who works full time should live in poverty.

Research shows raising the minimum wage helps Nebraska’s working adults – many of whom work multiple jobs to support their families – and increases economic spending without harming jobs. Voting for Initiative 425 is a boost to hard-working Nebraska families and our economy.

Citing much of these reasons, the Lincoln Journal Star recently encouraged Nebraskans to vote for Initiative 425.

We hope you’ll cast your vote tomorrow to make hard work pay in Nebraska by voting for Initiative 425.
