Statement on Legislative Fiscal Office Fiscal Note for LB 1032
LINCOLN — Today, Nebraska Appleseed Executive Director Rebecca Gould released the following statement on the release of the latest fiscal note for LB 1032, the Transitional Health Insurance Program Act.
“For too long, too many of our friends and neighbors have had no way to get health insurance. LB 1032 would remedy this enormous problem by making affordable coverage available to Nebraskans who are otherwise locked out of our health care system.
“The fiscal note related to LB 1032 shows that an investment will be needed to support the program. We are committed to working with leaders on approaches that move the bill forward this year. We call on decision makers, from senators to the Governor, to make the same commitment and come to the table so we can ensure we solve this problem this session. We cannot wait any longer to address this problem and help our families, communities and health care system thrive.”
