Share your story & support for positive immigration laws!
Take a moment today or this weekend to share the light of your support for positive immigration laws! It’s time for full inclusion of longtime community members and family members.
Our immigration laws have not been meaningfully updated in 40 years, causing unnecessary harm. This year Congress has important opportunities to pass positive immigration laws – the Dream & Promise Act, the Essential Workers Citizenship Act, the U.S. Citizenship Act, and others – to create stability for local families and communities.
Next week, we will make first deliveries of banners showing Nebraskans’ support to our members of Congress.
3 easy steps to share the light of your story & support for positive immigration laws!
Take a moment today or over the weekend to write your message about how this affects all of us in Nebraska communities – including family members, friends, coworkers, employers, neighbors. Share what positive immigration laws would mean to you and your community.
3 steps by Tuesday, April 27:
- Download & print the flame or draw your own, and write your message!
- Text a photo to (402) 480-2630 (it can be just the flame or a selfie with the flame)
- Post a selfie on social media and tag Nebraska Appleseed on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram #WeAreHome #RelayAcrossAmerica #FIRMAction
Share the flame with your friends and family and anyone who you think would like to share their story of support!
Take one more minute to use that same message to email or call Congress!
You can also hear local video stories at the ‘We Are Home’ Nebraska website, showing why Congress needs to pass long-overdue laws that create a way for community members to apply for residency and citizenship.
