Lincoln Unites! A multicultural celebration welcoming cultures and vibrancy to Lincoln

Dance, Food, and Entertainment! Experience Lincoln’s diverse communities

LINCOLN – The Lincoln Unites! multicultural celebration will be held Friday, May 10 at the Nebraska History Museum (131 Centennial Mall N) in downtown Lincoln. This is the fourth annual event celebrating the many people and cultures that add to the vibrancy of this community.

Lincoln is part of a growing movement across the country and even across the world in recognizing the value of welcoming immigrants and refugees to create a community where everyone is respected and valued. This event grows out of many local organizations and individuals who want to celebrate the vibrancy of Lincoln’s diverse community with an event that is inclusive and where neighbors can meet neighbors and share music, food and experiences.

The festival gives Lincolnites the opportunity to celebrate one another. The Nebraska History Museum also encourages Lincolnites to explore their own family history and share how their families came to the United States.

A naturalization ceremony begins at 1:30 pm celebrating 44 new Americans receiving their citizenship. Following the ceremony, there will be entertainment, interactive booths will be open to the public, and festival goers can sample local cultural foods. The festival will go until the evening to allow community members to stop in after school and work. New this year, the film festival beginning at 7 pm, will feature local short stories of impact, community engagement, and the film, “The Healing of Harman”.
