Appleseed welcomes CIL community organizer Vic Klafter

As our Community Organizer for our collaborative project Collective Impact Lincoln, Vic Klafter is eager to focus on connecting with insightful and talented neighbors, especially in the Belmont and Clinton neighborhoods. Vic’s pronouns are he/him/his.

After growing up in Norfolk, Vic attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and graduated in 2018. During his undergraduate years, he volunteered and interned for Appleseed for the Child Welfare program. While interning, Vic produced a podcast, for Foster Care Awareness Month which highlighted stories of former foster care youth, foster and adoptive parents, and officials in the juvenile justice and child welfare spheres.

“I’m excited to be working with individuals in the historic Belmont and Clinton neighborhoods to address housing and employment issues and work on other pressing systemic issues that community members identify,” said Vic. “It’s inspiring and motivating to be welcomed in as an organizer by so many people who are so deeply invested in their communities.”

In his spare time, Vic loves being outside, going to concerts, eating good food in bulk portions, and writing bad poetry.

We’re excited to have Vic on our team! You can reach Vic at vklafter@neappleseed.org
