New Details about Nebraska Summer EBT 2024

It took thousands of advocates to push the State of Nebraska to accept Summer EBT for summer 2024. Now, that work is coming to fruition as Nebraska begins to roll out program details and outreach efforts for around 175,000 kids in 80,000 households (based on new state estimates)!

The state issued a press release today which includes their Summer EBT 2024 informational webpage and outreach flyer.

This program, which launches in less than a month, will provide $120 in food benefits per child participating in Nebraska free and reduced price meals over the course of the summer. This can be a big support to families trying to make ends meet while school is out and cafeterias are closed.

We encourage families to…
☑️ Review their eligibility,
☑️ Update their address with school and the Postal Service, and
☑️ Share this information with people they know who might be eligible. This outreach flyer is a great tool to share!

As a reminder, the Summer Food Service Program will be available to all families this summer in addition to Summer EBT. Around June 1, text FOOD or COMIDA to 304-304 or visit this map to receive information about SFSP sites in your zip code.

We fought hard to ensure families have the opportunity to receive these benefits in Nebraska. Now it’s time to make sure families who need it have the information they need to make use of it.
