Help us welcome Kieran Kissler (she/her/hers) to the Appleseed Team! Kieran is our new State Policy Associate, supporting our policy team in lobbying efforts in the Nebraska Legislature, and building relationships with Unicameral senators and staff as well as Appleseed organizers.
Kieran grew up in central Nebraska and graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2017 with a major in Human Development. Since 2013, she has served a variety of Lincoln’s nonprofits in the fields of education, juvenile justice and housing.
“Within my previous roles in both the juvenile justice and housing rights spaces, I long admired Nebraska Appleseed’s dedication to advocating for all Nebraskans. I am very proud to work alongside my colleagues who stand up for justice on a daily basis.”
Kieran finds genuine joy in the work by building relationships with her colleagues, partners and community members. When she’s not at the Capitol, she enjoys gardening, hiking and attending local art and music shows.
