Appleseed welcomes staff attorney Diane Amdor

Diane Amdor joined our team as a Staff Attorney in the Economic Justice program this spring! Diane’s pronouns are she/her/hers.

As a Staff Attorney, Diane works to combine litigation and policy to create effective pathways out of poverty for everyone in Nebraska. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts from Duquesne University in 2006, and graduated from the University of Nebraska College of Law in 2013. Diane was born and raised in Omaha and now lives in Lincoln; she has also lived in Pittsburgh, Italy, Mexico, and Ireland.

Prior to joining Nebraska Appleseed, Diane served as the Director of Restorative Practices at The Resolution Center and as Legal Counsel to the Nebraska Legislature’s Judiciary Committee.

She is excited to join the Appleseed team to help ensure that people who have fallen into poverty can get connected to programs and resources that lead to financial independence. “I feel lucky to be working at Nebraska Appleseed during these challenging and uncertain times. This work seems even more urgent and important now – ensuring access to food via SNAP, quality medical and mental health care in prison, and so much more. I also hope that I can meet my coworkers in person someday,” said Diane.

In Diane’s free time, she enjoys riding her bike and turning her front lawn into a prairie area and vegetable garden.
