First Friday poster benefit for Appleseed in Lincoln December 7

AStandUpForJustice_Stampppleseed is excited to announce that its benefit poster show Stand Up For Justice will be on display at Tugboat Gallery’s group exhibition Triple Threat this Friday for the December First Friday artwalk!

Friday, December 7
7pm to 10pm
Tugboat Gallery
116 North 14th St, 2nd Floor
Lincoln, NE 68508

Appleseed partnered with Omaha graphic designer Justin Kemerling and Lincoln screen printer Jason Davis of Screen Ink to invite ten local graphic designers to create poster art that inspires people to Stand Up For Justice in their community: to tear down the obstacles – discrimination, oppression, and reckless indifference – that keep the poorest of us poor and further weaken those among us who are vulnerable. We want to inspire people to organize to create real change and work together to build a stronger community as a community.

The show features hand signed and numbered 18”x24” silkscreen poster designs created by: Craig Hughes, Dave Markes, Doe Eyed, Jeremie Memming, Justin Kemerling, Kelsey Janda, Liz Hunt, Oxide Design Co., RDQLUS, and J. Curtis Rawlings.

Remaining prints will be available for purchase Friday for $25. Posters can also be purchased online. 100% of poster proceeds benefit Appleseed’s efforts fighting for justice and opportunity for all.

Also on display for Tugboat Gallery’s Triple Threat group exhibit:

  • Hand-painted signs of Todd “Tiny” Rose who spent time living on the streets after losing his job of two decades and after his saving ran out.
  • The photography of Steve Andel who photographed a 430 mile skateboarding trip across Nebraska to raise money for a local skate park. Proceeds from Steve Andel’s photography will benefit Skate for Change, a local nonprofit committed to giving back to low-income and homeless members of our community.

Special thanks to Justin Kemerling, Jason Davis, and all of the designers who donated their time, talent, and vision.
