Respect Nebraska Voters will not appear on the ballot.

Today, the Nebraska Supreme Court ruled that the Respect Nebraska Voters did not meet single subject requirements and therefore, will not appear on the November 2026 ballot.

We are deeply disappointed with the Supreme Court’s ruling. The Respect Nebraska Voters campaign was born out of statewide frustration at recent attempts by lawmakers to weaken the ballot initiative process and dilute the voices of everyday Nebraska voters, seen most recently with the undercutting of the minimum wage increase and a rollback of earned paid sick leave that took coverage away from 140,000 hardworking Nebraskans.

Despite collecting more than 186,000 signatures across the state, Nebraska voters will not have the opportunity to make their voices heard on this critical issue in November.

We’re so grateful for the tireless efforts of volunteers, community partners, and impacted Nebraskans like YOU from every county who lent their time and voices to this campaign.

Nebraskans continue to express the urgent need for strengthening the ballot initiative process to represent the will of the people, and we will continue to engage with Nebraskans to ensure that community voices are heard and respected by lawmakers.

Thank you for being part of this effort to ensure that we keep our freedom to decide what’s right for our state, communities, and families in our hands!
