Congress is likely to vote soon on a bill that goes around the normal budget process to funnel an additional $70 billion of taxpayer funds into ICE violence and mass detention plans. Public opposition successfully stopped this in the normal budget process (and has begun to slow this fast-track bill). But Congress is expected to return to this vote in the coming days, so this is a critical moment for your voice.
These funds would come on top of the unprecedented $170 billion allocated just last year (in the Big Brutal Bill / H.R.1) to dramatically expand ICE operations in communities across the country – which has funded mass detentions and shocking violence against people, substantially destabilized communities, and harmed working moms, dads, and neighbors.
Communities across the country clearly communicated to Congress that the public does not want to see further funds for ICE violence and a ballooning force of federal agents contrary to our national values and our safety.
TAKE ACTION: Call or email your members of Congress TODAY to let them know you strongly oppose the budget reconciliation bill’s additional billions of taxpayer dollars for unaccountable, unrestrained ICE agents and a national plan for mass detention that is destabilizing communities and harming working moms, dads, and neighbors.

Thank you for reaching out to Congress to urge them to reject any additional money for ICE violence and mass detention that is making our communities less safe.
