Today and tomorrow, the House of Representatives will be taking important votes on H.R. 1689, a positive solution that would support Temporary Protected Status (TPS) stability for local communities and safety for Haitian neighbors, business owners, caregivers, and faith leaders who have been in the U.S. for decades and are essential parts of communities across the country.
Maintaining these protections and work authorization for long-time Haitian community members is critical – otherwise, Haitians around the country may lose this protected immigration status and risk being returned to a country in the midst of a devastating humanitarian crisis.
