Call to action

Tell Congress to act NOW to keep health care affordable

Time is running out for Congress to extend the enhanced tax credits that help over 100,000 Nebraskans afford their Marketplace health care coverage. Congress must pass an extension of these tax credits before the end of the year, or else tens of thousands of Nebraskans will see their premiums skyrocket overnight, and thousands are expected to lose coverage because they can no longer afford it.

Today, the Senate voted on different proposals – one that would have extended the tax credits for three years and another that would have done nothing to help address unaffordable Marketplace plans, both of which failed.

The Congressional Budget Office estimates that an average of 3.8 million people will become uninsured each year if these credits expire. Congress must work together next week to find a solution before they leave on December 19th.

Call or email your Nebraska members of Congress and tell them Nebraska families need an extension of the enhanced tax credits NOW.
