LB258 Advanced Again. Tell Your Senator to Vote NO on Final Reading!

Today, 33 senators continued to blatantly ignore the will of Nebraska voters by advancing ❌LB258 (Raybould) through its second round of debate.

LB258 would harm Nebraska workers by severely weakening our state’s minimum wage law. If passed on Final Reading, this bill would create a subminimum wage for workers under the age of 20 AND restrict the cost of living increases that Nebraskans voted for in 2022.

LB258 undermines changes that were overwhelmingly approved by Nebraska voters, and it will all but ensure that Nebraska wages once again fall behind the ever-rising cost of living.

Find out how your senator voted here. (Find your senator.)

  • If they voted NO on LB258, please thank them for respecting the will of Nebraska voters – and for standing up for working Nebraskans.
  • If they voted YES on LB258, please ask them to OPPOSE this bill when it’s up for Final Reading.

Because ❌LB258 overturns the will of Nebraska voters, it will require 33 yes votes to pass on Final Reading. It’s urgent that we make our voices heard NOW.

A ballot initiative that garners nearly 60% of the vote is a clear indicator of where Nebraskans stand on an issue. Lawmakers should defer to the will of their constituents, who spoke loud and clear in 2022 about the importance and necessity of raising wages for working Nebraskans across the state.

Thank you for taking action! Every call, every email, every action that you take matters in our fight for justice and opportunity for ALL Nebraskans.
