No one should have to choose between their health and their paycheck. Last November, nearly 75% of Nebraska voters agreed by supporting Initiative 436 to approve paid sick leave for all workers.
Now, members of the Nebraska Legislature are looking to overturn the will of voters and exempt certain workers in Nebraska from being able to earn and use paid sick leave.
LB415, introduced by Senator Beau Ballard, is up for debate as early as TODAY with a pending amendment (❌ AM545) that would exempt several groups of workers from receiving earned sick leave – including seasonal and temporary agricultural workers, and workers under the age of 16. Additionally, AM545 exempts businesses with 10 or fewer employees from having to provide paid sick leave, and it weakens important protections for workers who face retaliation from their employers for using paid sick leave.
Contact your senator NOW and tell them to OPPOSE AM545 to LB415 to make sure they know this isn’t what we voted for. We want ALL Nebraska workers to be able to earn and use paid sick leave – WITHOUT retaliation.

Thank you for your continued advocacy!
